A total of thirty-eight professional technicians between both divisions participated, twenty-one states, as well as British Columbia and Alberta. In addition to Sunday’s competition on November 6th, 2016 participants over the weekend attended classes and two written exams to test their expertise.
Technician Division
First place: Aaron Dempsey, Lead Mechanic for Oakemos Public Schools, East Lansing, Michigan
Second place: Spencer Page of Clear Creek ISD, Clear Creek, Texas
Third place: Donald Ertael of Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Virginia
Inspector Division
First place: Raymond Dickens, Mechanic for Kanawha County Schools in Charleston, West Virginia
Second Place: Ralph Trango of Wake County Public Schools in North Carolina
Third place: Kevin Roe of Jackson R-2 District South East of St. Louis
Next year’s America’s Best Event is scheduled for Columbus, Ohio.
